Notice of Public Meeting on Second Amendment to Superintendent’s Contract
The South Bend Community School Corporation’s Board of School Trustees will hold a public meeting on July 31, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. on the third floor of the Administration Building, 215 South Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, South Bend, Indiana 46601 to discuss and hear objections to and support for a proposed second amendment to the Superintendent’s contract as required by Ind. Code 20-26-5-4.3. This public meeting will be held during the regular school board meeting, which begins at 5:30 p.m.

Summary of Proposed Contract Amendments
1. Term: Four years, starting July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2027.
2. Annual Base Salary: Retroactive to July 1, 2023, and for each year thereafter, the annual salary will be adjusted by an amount that is equivalent to the highest dollar amount or percentage salary increase that is approved by the Board for any group or subgroup of teachers in the bargaining unit, whichever is greater.
3. Holidays: Beginning July 1, 2023, the Superintendent shall receive 11 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays.
4. Vacation: Retroactive to July 1, 2023, the Superintendent shall be entitled to payment for any accrued, unused vacation days with the amount of the payment to be calculated at the Superintendent’s then applicable per diem rate.
After the meeting, the Board of School Trustees will consider the input and the proposed amendment as an agenda item at its board meeting on August 7, 2023.
