Marshall Traditional School celebrates Unity Gardens

Media is invited to Marshall Traditional School on Thursday, May 4 at 11:00 a.m. to speak with students,   educators, and community partners about the school’s newly designed grant-funded garden.

In October 2022, Marshall Traditional was awarded a grant of $3000 from the Whole Kids Foundation to initiate the project. The grant application was developed by Kara Primmer, Ph.D., parent, and member of Marshall’s Parent Teacher Organization. The application was selected from more than 1,200 received from across the US and Canada. The Garden Grant Program supports new or existing garden projects at K-12 schools and other non-profit organizations.

Marshall has partnered with Unity Gardens of South Bend to plan, construct and maintain the garden.

As a “Unity Garden,” the produce will be free and open to the community.
