Mr. Douglas Story, Audio/Video Production

Mr. Story has been in the professional world of audio/video production for over 30 years. He brings this experience to his students and provides them with opportunities to produce professional projects involving area businesses. This hands-on approach, as well as using industry knowledge, creates a learning atmosphere for all audio/video students to be ready for their next step in their path to a college and career ready resume. Mr. Story makes a point to share with parents and students the importance of video production in all areas of the business world. He also stresses the value of becoming a better public speaker by using the SBCSC radio station WETL-FM. All students in the audio/video production program have the opportunity to be a “radio personality”, speaking to thousands of listeners throughout the Michiana area.

Story has worked in broadcasting markets around the country including his last 15 years at the NBC affiliate, WNDU-TV, in South Bend, Indiana. He also was a radio host on the local ESPN station on the Sean Stires show. While working in the South Bend market, he produced the Notre Dame football and basketball coaches show which airs in over 30 markets around the nation. An award-winning director, Story has also directed or produced short documentaries and features.

He now takes this knowledge and experience to the world of Career and Technical Education. His main goal is to help each student realize their potential and value by coming out of this two year program, better than they were when they entered, with their eye on a promising future.
