School Age Mothers Program (SAMP)

The School Age Mothers Program provides an alternative program for pregnant teenage girls in 7th grade though 12th grade. Students must live within the South Bend Community School Corporation Boundaries to attend SAMP.

A variety of courses are taught by a staff of trained professionals to meet the needs of all students. Each student is required to enroll in six to eight classes that are necessary to meet graduation requirements. All students must also enroll in a child development class. A student who is pregnant for a second time, must also take a parenting course.

To enroll in SAMP, a student must be registered at a South Bend Community School Corporation school and be referred to the program by their home school.

Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average or risk being put on probation and asked to leave the program.
