Dr. G. David Moss
Dr. G. David Moss is currently Director of the African American Student and Parent Services Department for the South Bend Community School Corporation. A position he has held since October, 2013. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Systems, both from The Florida State University. He began his professional career as an educator in Ft. Pierce, Florida, where he served as the Music Director for John Carroll High School. In his third year of teaching, he was honored to be selected as Teacher of the Year. He also served four years as an Admissions Coordinator for Florida State University. While a doctoral student in Counseling Psychology at the University of Notre Dame, David received the Distinguished Graduate Student Award from the Notre Dame Alumni Association. He earned his Masters and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Notre Dame in 2001. Before taking his current position, David had been employed at the University of Notre Dame for 15 years. His job titles included: Special Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs; Senior Consultant to the Vice President for Student Affairs; and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs.
He is a published author and the founding director of Moss Light Consulting, a firm focused on cultural, educational, psychological and systems based problem solving. One of his proudest moments was winning the state championship in Lego Robotics and taking 10 South Bend school children to Germany for 10 days to compete in the Open European Championship. Dr. Moss has been married to his wife, Tammy, for 23 years and they are the proud parents of 6 children.
Maisha A. Harris-Mackey
Maisha was recently hired on as the Administrative Assistant to the African-American Student Services Department of the South Bend Community School Corporation. Maisha is a native of South Bend, graduated from John Adams High School and has served the corporation for four years.
