There are a variety of mental health supports available to families. South Bend Community School Corporation is grateful to CASA for their support in providing the list of providers and is grateful to Oaklawn for their continued partnership, programming, and support. 

General Supports

The Family Gateway is an online mental health resource for families, educators, and child-serving professionals in the Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties in Northern Indiana. It includes downloadable materials and a searchable database of local mental health professionals. 

Oaklawn Elkhart and St. Joseph County's Community Mental Health Center's website, which includes a referral feature for schools. The Center's access number is 574-283-1234. 

A Beautiful Mind offers counseling therapy for all ages; individuals, couples, and family; psychological testing, emotional/behavioral, LD/ADHD testing, vocational interests and aptitude testing. Contact them at 574-243-9370 or fax 574-243-9375. 

Adult Protective Services (APS) was established to investigate reports and provide intervention and protection to vulnerable adults who are victims of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.  Contact APS at 574-235-5092, 1-800-626-8320 or fax 574-235-9734. 

Advanced Medical Computing (Family Counseling Services) offers family counseling and accepts Medicaid. Contact them at 574-232-5065.

Benchmark Family Services is a network of professional, therapeutic foster homes and committed staff across four states with the goal of providing stable out of home placements for children in need. Bonhomie Counseling provides family and individual counseling of all ages, also offer marriage and substance abuse counseling. Contact them at 574-293-5991 or fax 574-293-5429.

Boys' and Girls' Club is a positive place for kids. They provide programs to enhance physical, social, educational, vocational and character development of boys and girls from age 5-18 years old. They can be contacted at 574-232-2048. 

Child and Parent Services (CAPS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the cause of ensuring that every child in Elkhart County has the benefit of safe, stable, nurturing relationships in their childhood. Through education, advocacy, and intervention, CAPS works with others in the community to build strong families, safe environments, and a life free from abuse and neglect for every child. Catholic Charities is a multi-service agency that provides social services to families. It provides services to people of all religious faiths and beliefs to include: counseling services, pregnancy services, adoption services, refugee resettlement, and a food pantry.
